Piano with Rowena

I love teaching people to play the piano! For over 35 years I have been teaching students of all ages. The delight of the four year old who learns their first Christmas song is equal to that of the retiree who is playing an instrument for the first time in their life. A dream is being realized for both.

Learning to play the piano is a balance between a competent teacher with whom the student connects, a student who has a desire to learn to play and is willing to practice, and an instrument that meets basic keyboard standards.

Piano lessons are offered in-person, online, or a combination of the two. Please contact me if you are ready to realize your dream of playing the piano!

What Piano Students and Parents are Saying

It’s been nearly ten years since you began to instruct our daughter in how to play the piano. We are convinced that her piano experience has helped her excel in her academics, particularly science and mathematics. As I’m sure you know, she will be going off to Purdue in the fall to begin her college studies. —Parents of former student on her high school graduation

Thank you for the wonderful experience that I know our daughter will treasure as well as the memories. You are such a great teacher as you kept her motivated and inspired. We appreciate your passion and positive influence. —Parents of 2018 high school graduate

We did not think our son could play any instrument due to his severe ADHD. (This young man played in the spring recital the year he took lessons. His therapist in the audience was crying because she did not think it was possible for him to concentrate enough to play.) —Parent of late elementary student
